The Town of Stockbridge waste water plant is located west of the village on route #102. The facility currently receives waste from 490 homes and businesses and treats it through a microbiological process called Extended Air Activated Sludge. The facility then dicharges its treated water into the Housatonic river at the rate of approximately 180,000 gallons per day.
The plant was constructed in 1986 and has continuously met all Enviornmental Protection Agency requirements and limitations.
